Daddy Mac and I had our ten year anniversary last week, which was truly hard to believe. A whole ten years? Really? Wow — that sure went by fast, which is a good sign, I suppose! However, I kept accidentally calling it our ten year “reunion.” Oopsy! Good thing Daddy Mac is not an easily offended kind of guy. It actually was kind of a reunion of sorts for just the two of us. With our anniversary approaching, I realized that we had no recent pictures of us without the Saminator sticking out his tongue out or some such crazy-nutcase nonsense.
Luckily we were able to go away overnight to a really neat B & B in Shenandoah Valley called “L’Auberge Provencale.” I had randomly found it on the internet a while back, and it looked pretty fabulous. Plus all the Virginia universities seemed to have graduation that weekend, so that eliminated places like Charlottesville and Williamsburg entirely.
And with that we were off — over the river (the James River) and through the woods (of Central Virginia), and off to (the Provencale) house. Once we arrived, we really felt like we were in the south of France but had no jet lag to get over. What more can you ask for? Plus, we did not have to endure any freaky encounters with TSA! All in all it was the right place at the right time for a couple of Francophiles from Richmond with a 24-hour window to get away.
