Lady Liberty, you wear it well! Not a wrinkle to be seen!
It’s America’s birthday yet again! And she’s turning 238 years old!
Yes, it was 238 years ago today that the Signers of the Declaration of Independence were risking their very necks with their signature. As Benjamin Franklin so aptly put it while signing, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”
After signing his name in large letters, John Hancock exclaimed, “There! His Majesty can now read my name without glasses. And he can double the reward on my head!”
John Adams declared, “I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy.”
The rest, as they say, is history. I can’t even begin to do justice to the countless sacrifices our Patriot brethren made, men and women alike.
All I can say is THANK YOU!
THANK YOU for believing in America before there was anything to believe in!
